The Colour Purple

This weeks inspiration comes from one of our brides who has chosen the colour purple as the basis for her stunning cliff top wedding later in the year

The colour purple has long been associated with royalty and was once so rare and expensive to produce outside of the natural world that only the rich could afford it!!   Back in 1600 B.C the colour could only be reproduced from the shells of mollusks and it is said that it took more than 12,000 shells to produce just 1.5 grams of dye.

Thankfully nowadays we have a large range of linens, textiles, paperware, flowers and other different materials we can utilise to showcase this majestic colour.

Happy New Year!! It’s that time of year again when we share with you the newest trends in the wedding industry for 2012 from hot colours to the newest bridal and styling ideas.

In 2012, a ‘return to elegance and simplicity’ is the key theme. NOT doing the same thing that has been done a hundred times before and making your wedding about you is another central theme that we have been advocating for years!!!!

White Weddings are IN! The elegance and simplicity of white lends itself to so many different settings & styles. From a romantic beach wedding to a modern, ultra chic contemporary villa wedding.

Glamor takes centre stage for 2012 weddings; 1930′s black and white, vintage touches, feathers…….

Tangerine Tango (Pantone #17-1463)  is the colour of the year. A bold, happy & fun  colour that’s not for the faint hearted! You don’t have to use it as your main colour however when teamed with other colours such as different shades of orange, shades of purple or even cobalt blue it adds a great pop of colour.


Local fun food. Food from your favourite restaurant, the use of fresh, local seasonal foods and fun things like live cooking stations even ‘Pasar Malam’ style food stalls will be big again this year.

Sweet treats. While wedding cakes are still a major part of the wedding, other desert options are proving to be a welcome addition to 2012 weddings:

Christmas…..Tis the season to give thanks!

I can’t believe Christmas is only a couple of days away! Where has this month gone?!!!   As everyone starts to wind down at work and all the last minute shoppers (me included!) head to the shops in a frenzied rush it is a great time to take a step back and really be thankful for all that we have and who we have in our lives to share it with. Paul & I would like to say a big thank you to our family, our friends, our amazing clients both past, present and future, the awesome Bali D’luxe team and everyone who has supported us in our vision and our dream to establish and grow Bali D’luxe Weddings & Events over the last couple of years as one of the premium Bali wedding and special event providers. We couldn’t have done it without all of you.

We have some amazing things in store for 2012 and can’t wait to share them with you in the New Year!

Whether you are in Bali, Australia or anywhere else in the world, having a quiet Christmas at home with close family and friends or painting the town red and endulging in an extra large dose of the Christmas spirit we wish everyone  a truly blessed Christmas & New Year
